Ben Hansbrough nailed six three-pointers on his way to 22 points, while forward Tim Abromaitis added 21 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Carleton Scott ( 17 points, 11 rebounds) and Tyrone Nash (11 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists) both also notched double-doubles
Notre Dame held just a three-point lead with 8:12 left in the first half, but Hansbrough and Abromaitis led a furious rally that gave Notre Dame a 53-31 lead at the half. The Irish picked up where they left off in the second half, outscoring Chicago State 29-9 over the first nine minutes of the second half.
Carl Montgomery, Hajijj Martin, and Christian Wall led the Cougars (1-2) with 14 points each.
Notre Dame climbs to 3-0 with its third win in six days and will play next on Monday as the Irish play host to Maine at Purcel Pavillion.
