Notre Dame has one of the best pre-game traditions

ESPN SportsNation has created a bracket tournament on which college has the best pre-game tradition. Thinking Notre Dame has a very strong one in the historic “Play Like a Champion Today” sign, I imagined them being placed in the top three (at least).

Well, they agreed with me. ESPN SportsNation ranked Notre Dame as the number 1 seed, facing number 16 seed West Virginia in the opening round. This should be an easy win for Notre Dame because they’re tradition is much more historic. West Virginia’s tradition “Hold the Rope,” reminds me of Notre Dame’s tradition but is not known around the country as much as Notre Dame’s is. Most people who watch college football can tell you what Notre Dame’s pre game ceremony is, while most cannot tell you what West Virginia’s is.

Be sure to vote for Notre Dame in the tournament and check out if they made it through the next round tomorrow on SportsNation at 4pm eastern time (on ESPN2).

Here is Notre Dame’s tradition simulated on NCAA Football 2012.
