Linebacker/ defensive end Romeo Okwara has committed to Notre Dame. Okwara, a 6 foot 4 inches and 225 pound star, is a great addition to Brian Kelly’s 2012 defensive class. He is from Charlotte, NC.

ESPN reports that he chose Notre Dame over offers from  Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. 5 of these teams will have either played this year or played them last year.

The 12th player added to Notre Dame’s class of 2012 had 70 tackles,  with 1 fumble recovery, and 2 forced fumbles as a junior in high school. The class of 2012 is an exciting one for Notre Dame. We have a lot of defensive talent that will hopefully add to great value to Brian Kelly’s defense.

Good luck Romeo and go Irish!
