Miami has become the main attraction for news in the NCAA. Many believe the things they’ve done or allowed (sports boosters paying players and the coaches knowing about this) is worthy of the death penalty. The harshed poenatly in the NCAA rulebook. Sooner or later, the media would ask Brian kelly his thoughts on the topic, and here’s what he said.
Here’s what he said on if the rumored allegations are true.
“We’re going to have to be more vigilant — everybody,” Kelly said after practice Friday. “Everybody says, ‘Well, it’s just the NCAA.’ I think that’s a cop-out. It’s the NCAA, it’s the institution, it’s the coach, it’s compliance, it’s everybody. And the penalties have to be severe for those who don’t choose to play by the rules.”
Here’s what Kelly said on what other coaches recruiting beliefs are.
“What I can tell you is, there are a lot of good football coaches out there that believe recruiting the right kids — kids that understand and recognize the value of getting an education first — can alleviate some of those things.”
Obviously, Brian believes in the correcxt way to recruit players and is very disappointed in Miami and any other college that recruits the wrong way (paying players). What do you think? Leave a comment below and let us know what you think of Miami.
