If what was a low scoring battle, Notre Dame snuck out of western Pennsylvania with a big road win against unranked Pittsburgh.
Tommy Rees wasn’t perfect at times, but he did enough. Especially in the fourth quarter when they needed it most. Midway through the last quarter, Tommy ked the Irish down field for what was the game winning touchdown. Running backs Cierre Wood and Jonad Gray combined for over 150 yards rushing and Grays’s 79 yard touchdown run was extremely critical to give Notre Dame the lead in the second quarter.
