Did Notre Dame Quit Against USC?

Multiple players, fans, and the college football world were wondering one thing towards the end of the Notre Dame vs USC game. Did Notre Dame quit?

Many USC players were surprised that Notre Dame didn’t use any timeouts when USC was driving late in the game. USC quarterback said:

“I was shocked that they didn’t use the timeouts because we got on the field with … about seven minutes left, and I thought they were planning on stopping us and saving their timeouts for the end when they had the ball.” via ESPN

I am not sure about whether or not ND quit for sure, but I do believe they were in disbelief of what was happening. It probably was too little too late by the time they would have gotten the ball back. USC was running all over the Irish and Brian Kelly did the smart thing and stopped the bleeding. Hopefully Notre Dame won’t have to be in this situation again.

Not sure if they quit, but like you say, there was lots of bleeding and the way USC was killing the clock, I’m not sure the timeouts would have helped.
