Notre Dame football will take the field for the last time this year on December 29th, in the Champs Sports Bowl against Florida State. How good is Florida State? Well, over the next week I will be breaking down the “Noles” so you can get a better understanding of who they are.
Like Notre Dame, Florida State was well over-hyped by the media (myself included). They were ranked 5th in the AP Week 3 Pool. After they lost to Oklahoma in week 4, it was all downhill from there. Falling to make the ACC Championship game, FSU finished at 8-4.
Here’s their entire schedule.

Obviously, the losses to Wake Forest and Clemson killed their chances of any high rankings. But, they are a road tested team that shows a lot of grit. Their key win to me was the last one listed against Florida. I know the Gators aren’t as strong as they were when Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer left, but its still tough to go into the Swamp and expect to win. Credit goes out to the “Noles” for their effort.
