Notre Dame looked lost as they took the floor tonight against a high-tempo Cincinnati. Notre Dame lead maybe once in the game when it was 2-0. But they were able to keep up with the Bearcats, as they seemed to always be down 10 when it looked like they were starting to play well. It was just a night to forget for the Irish.
They were down 8 with around 3:00 minutes left, but Cincinnati’s ability to score the open shot was just too much. Notre Dame could not break the Cats defense; you have to tip your hat to their team for stepping up.
Notre Dame’s perimeter shooting (the key to the game I said in the preview), was no where to be found. They went 5/28, which is a whopping 17.9%. Obviously, not a good number whoever you are playing.
Twitter fans: Unfortunately, no one selected the Irish to lose so I’m afraid no one has won the score-prediction contest. Thanks to all who guessed!
The Irish dropped their record to 9-6 (1-1 in Big East) while the Bearcats went to 11-3 (2-0 in Big East).
Do not be worried folks they’re is plenty of basketball to play and this certainly looked like an “off night” for the Irish. Notre Dame looks to rebound against 10 ranked Louisville this Saturday at 4pm (eastern time).
