Today, Notre Dame will meet 10th ranked Louisville in a Big East matchup. This is set up for a big game, due to both teams already having 1 loss in the conference.
History says: 3 out of the last 4 meetings these teams have met, it has gone into overtime. Let’s hope this one is an exciting game, with the Irish coming out on top.
“All I know is that every time we play Louisville, it seems to go to overtime”- Mike Brey
This game is going to be tough for the Irish. The KFC Center is one of the toughest places to play at and the Irish seem unprepared for the away game elements. The game ungainst Cincinnati was a huge disappointment. They came out sluggish and never turnbed it around. Will there be a different ending? Only time will tell.
Players to watch for:
For Louisville, keep an eye out for sophomore center, Gorgui Dieng. He is a double-double in the making and is a force in the middle. Not only that, he can put up 6 or 7 blocks in the game. Jack Cooley will have his hands full today.
For Notre Dame, it will be Eric Atkins. Our starting gaurd will play all 40 minutes, pending an injury. He has to contribute more points and assist for the Irish to be sucessful today. 8 points and 2 assist against Cincinnati was not enough production for a man who played the entire game. A lot of pressure will be on his shoulders, but I believe he can do it.
