Notre Dame 60 South Florida 49

Notre Dame cruised their way past South Florida and defeated a team that was under the radar so far in the Big East. Notre Dame advances to 301 in Big East play, while South Florida falls to 2-2.

Scott Martin was the player of the game for the Irish. He had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. He was shooting very well today as well (7-14 from the field).

The Irish looked very consistent throughout the game and proved yet again why they’re unstoppable from home. 29 games at Notre Dame, equals 29 wins; that streak right there is impressive enough. Let’s hope they extend that even further!

What was the key to the game?

3- point shooting

Notre Dame looked very strong from the perimeter. They went 5-14 as a team (35.7%). Compared to South Florida’s 1-13 (7.7%), I’d say that is the difference between Notre Dame winning this game and losing this game. Impressive stuff from the Irish offense.

Notre Dame looks to advance to 4-1 in the Big East as they will take on last year’s national champions, UCONN Huskies, in South Bend on Saturday.
