Notre Dame vs Marquette Preview

Tomorrow afternoon/morning (depending where you live), the men’s basketball team will take on Maruquette in a Big East match-up. Notre Dame currently is in fourth place in the Big East standings, while Marquette is in second place sitting behind Syracuse.

Notre Dame will be home this weekend. Looking to improve their amazing home record of 95-7 in their last 102 games played at home.

Key to the game:  Rebounding

Notre dame is a force to be reckoned with when they are rebounding well. They are currently 9-0 when out-rebounding the opponent. They need junior forward Jack Cooley to be a presence down low, like he has been all year if the irish plan on winning this game.

Players to watch:

For Notre Dame, it has to be Jack Cooley. He is third in the Big East with a .594 (82-138) shooting percentage. He also leads the team in double-doubles (6). He puts up a double-double this game, I don’t know how Marquette will answer.

For Marquette, look for senior gaurd Darius Johnson-Odom. he is a leader on the team and he leads the team with over 18 points a game. If he isn’t on tomorrow, Marquette will have serious problems.

Score Prediction:

Notre Dame 56 Marquette 51

Notre Dame will be too much for the Blue and Gold of Marquette. I don;t see ND falting to this team,
