Notre Dame in the running for Davonte’ Neal

Notre Dame is one of four contestants left in Davonte’ Neal’s college decision. The standout, 5 star wide receiver who can play both sides of the ball, took his official visit in December. So all ND has left to do is wait until Tuesday, when he makes his decision.

Neal’s father, Luke Neal, told the Arizona Republic that Notre Dame is the “darkhorse” because the school hasn’t committed to which side of the ball Davonte’ would play. Notre Dame has told him that he is committed for kick returns next year, while all of his other options have him committed for slot receiver and return kicks.

“There is no confirmation yet what side of the ball (Davonte’ would play at Notre Dame). But he doesn’t care anyway. He understands most coaches are telling him what kids want to hear. He doesn’t care what side of the ball, as long as it’s 100 yards.” –Luke Neal

I honestly have no idea what is going to happen. I’ve seen situations before where a player will come to ND even though he had better offers. But, I’ve also seen players change their mind at the last second (Ronal Darby).

Only time will tell. Be sure to keep up with SlapTheSign for the latest on the ND recruiting scene.
