Breaking down Xavier's offense

According to the statistics, Xavier is a much better team in offense than Notre Dame. But, just how good are they?

Well, against Vanderbilt and Cincinnati, they scored over 75 points. However, against Oral Roberts, they score 42. So its tough to say.

They are a decent team at offense. I wouldn’t say they’re a scary team to play, but I wouldn’t slack off against m. Overall, a C+.

Here’s why:

They do have 2 players who average 15 points or more a game. Tu Holloway (17.0 PPG) and Mark Lyons (15.5) also play over 30 minutes, so expect them to get a lot of time on the ball. If ND can’t stop these guys, it may be a long game for Mike Brey and Co.

The bad thing I see that sticks out is their lack of consistency. When I look at their schedule I see wins with different totals on them. It’s either in the mid 80s or low 60s. If they can pull off a “bad” night, Notre Dame is a safe bet into the second round.
