Notre Dame Pepared For Conference Opening Day

Notre Dame will host the Pittsburgh Panthers. This will be the first conference game of the 2012 season.

Notre Dame will be playing Pittsburgh in the first Big East series of the season tonight at 5:35m ET. The Irish 12-7 in regular season play, and they look to take their 2 game winning streak into Big East ‘Ball.

The Fighting Irish will be led by Eric Jagielo, a sophomore left fielder, in the hitting department. He’s averaged .346 so far the season with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs. I am excited to see how he handles the Big East competition, because I think he can thrive in this conference.

Notre Dame’s Pat Connaughton, also an Irish basketball player, has been limited on his pitch count. So I’m not sure if he’ll be out there tonight. But, expect him to be used sometime this weekend against the Panthers. As a big basketball fan, I hope he does well for the team.
