Irish fall to UIC, snap 5 game winning streak

UIC defeated Notre Dame this past Tuesday in a non-conference match-up in Chicago, Ill. The final score was 8-5. Notre Dame 15-8 while the Flames jump to 10-12.

Collin Weyer got the victory in relief for UIC. He allowed just one earned run on one hit in 1.2 innings of work. Weyer struck out one and walked one. For Notre Dame, Senior LHP Ryan Richter was received the loss and  to 0-2 on the year.

The Irish’s first baseman, Trey Mancini, was the player of the game for the Irish. He scored 3 times and finished the day 3-4 offensively. He is now averageing .356 for the year, the second highest on the team.

For the Flames, Ryan Boss hit very well. He went 2-4 and hit some big RBIs for the UIC Flames. He was, to me, the standout player for the Flames. he’s only s sophomore too, so UIC will definitely have a decent future.

Notre Dame returns to action at 7:00 p.m. ET on Friday in Tampa, Fla., against the USF Bulls.
