Notre Dame spring practice update

Notre Dame was forced to practice indoors Friday for the team’s 6th practice so far this spring. Not much has happened, but here’s the highlights of what has been going on.

There was no real change in the quarterback competition. It is really open mostly because Brian Kelly has decided to retrain each QBs fundamentals so that he can see the progression in what he wants.

“Each day we’re staging different tests for the quarterbacks,” Kelly said. “That’s why this is gonna be a long process. We’re not gonna have this thing accomplished because we have not even got to the checks in our offense yet. There are no checks in yet. It’s call it and play.”

Notre Dame will be without Prince Shemboc due to a turf toe, but he will be only out day-to-day. Ishaq Williams took his spot in first team reps for defense instead.

Also, no decision has been made on the return man for punting, the spot is still open to multiple players.
