Sophomore 3B Eric Jagielo had a break-out game to beat Georgetown in the first of two games in one day. He went 3-5 and hit a 3-run home run in the 9th inning to seel the win. The final score was 5-2.
Notre Dame improved to 20-16 overall and 7-6 in the Big East, while the Hoyas dropped to 18-19 and 5-8 in the conference.
Sophomore RHP Sean Fitzgerald earned the victory and improved to 4-3 on the season. He retired 10 of the 11 batters he faced. Charles Steinman was charged with the loss for the Hoyas and dropped to 2-4 on the year. He was roughed up for three runs, all earned, on four hits in 0.1 innings of work.
