After 2 scoreless innings of relief, freshman RHP Matt Ternowchek picked up the victory. He is now 3-1 on the season.

Dan Slaina picked up the save for ND. He now has a conference leading 8 saves on the season.

Junior 2B Frank DeSico (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius H.S.) went 3-for-5 with a run scored and RBI, while four other Notre Dame starters had at least two hits. Junior C Joe Hudson (Odessa, Fla./Tampa Jesuit H.S.) went 2-for-4 with an RBI, as did freshman LF Mac Hudgins (Richmond, Va./Douglass Freeman H.S.). Hudgins had a double and triple. Senior RF Alex Robinson (Dallas, Texas/First Baptist Academy) went 2-for-5 with an RBI single, while freshman SS Jason McMurray (West Des Moines, Iowa/Dowling Catholic H.S.) went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Notre Dame is playing well. If they can take Saturday’s game for the complete sweep, they will be in a good position to clinch a conference playoff berth in the next week or two.
