Freshman Pat Connaughton pitched 6 scoreless innings to help the Irish run over the Georgetown Hoyas by a score of 14-4. The Irish completed a three-game sweep of the Hoyas in just over 22 hours and improved to 22-16 overall and 9-6 in the Big East, while Georgetown dropped to 18-21 and 5-10.
Pat Connaughton allowed just 4 hits over the longest outing of his career. Striking out 3 and walking 4, Pat looked very sharp in his command. His stamina has surely improved since his return from the basketball season.
