Purdue-The Boilermakers defeated FCS team Eastern Kentucky, 48-6. Overall, the Boilermakers played a sloppy game committing 5 turnovers. However, Purdue had an impressive Offensive performance tallying 547 total yards. Robert Marve started the game for the Boilermakers. If you will recall, he started the 2010 game versus the Fighting Irish. He went 30-for-38, 295 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception. Senior Running Back Akeem Shavers ran for 74 yards on 11 carries.

at Michigan State-The #13 Spartans snuck past #24 Boise State with a 17-13 win at Spartan Stadium on Friday night. The game was a defensive struggle. Andrew Maxwell, who takes over for Kurt Cousins, threw three interceptions. The star of the game for Michigan State was Le’Veon Bell who 210 yards on 44 carries with 2 touchdowns.

Michigan-Brady Hoke and Michigan were trounced by Nick Saban and Alabama 41-14 in Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night. It appeared that the Wolverines did not have a chance in this ball game. Michigan star Denard Robinson went 11-for-26 for 200 yards with 2 interceptions. His attack on the ground was limited to 27 yards on 10 carries. Overall, Michigan was limited to 268 total yards.

Miami-The Hurricanes won a shoot-out with the Boston College Eagles, 41-32. The Hurricanes took advantage of 3 Eagle turnovers. Miami overcame a 14-point early deficit to pull out the victory. Shane Morris threw for 207 yards with 62% completion percentage. Freshman Running Back Duke Johnson had an impressive performance running for 135 yards on 7 attempts with 2 touchdowns.

Stanford-The Cardinal defeated the San Jose State Spartans 20-17 in Palo Alto on Friday night. In their first game without Andrew Luck, the Cardinal struggled to pull away. Senior Running Back Stephon Taylor ran for 116 yards on 26 carries. Luck’s replacement Josh Nunes had a mediocre and controlled performance. He threw for 125 yards. His completion percentage was 61.5%

BYU-The Cougars opened up against the Washington State Cougars with a 30-6. Bronco Mendenhall ruined Mike Leach’s return to college football. Senior Quarterback Riley Nelson threw for 285 yards with 2 touchdowns.

at Oklahoma-At time of first publication, Oklahoma was beating C-USA team UTEP, 10-7 in the 3rd Quarter.

Pittsburgh-FCS team the Youngstown State Penguins upset the Pitt Panthers 31-17 in the debut of new Panther head coach Paul Chryst. This victory was the first win for the Penguins against a FBS team. Pittsburgh star Ray Graham ran for 71 yards on 14 carries. Quarterback Tino Sunseri added 239 yards through the air.

at Boston College-Boston College’s offense looked much better in this game than last year despite the loss to the Hurricanes. The Eagles totaled 542 yards of total offense against the Hurricane defense. Junior Quarterback Chase Rettig went 32-for-51 for 441 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception.

Wake Forest-The Demon Deacons survived a scare from the Liberty Flames with a 20-17 victory in Winston-Salem. Liberty Flames, an FCS team, out gained the Deacons 363 to 294 on offense. Wake Forest Quarterback Tanner Price threw for 195 yards with a 57% completion percentage.

at USC-USC defeated the Hawaii Warrior 49-10 at the Coliseum. Heisman hopeful Matt Barkley went 24-for-39 for 351 yards and 2 touchdowns. Silas Redd, the new Trojan’s Running Back, ran for 57 yards on 9 carries.
