2013 Point Guard Recruit Demetrius Jackson Commits to Notre Dame

Demetrius Jackson, the Point Guard from Mishawaka, committed to Notre Dame Thursday after a long recruitment by Mike Brey and his staff. Jackson is ranked as the 66th best recruit according to the Fansided 150. Other recruiting services have Jackson ranked even higher than that. Jackson had offers from Kansas, Louisville and Michigan State among others. He is definitely the type of player that will make a difference in a program immediately and in a big way.

Jackson has an excellent Offensive game. He has good size, speed and athleticism for the position of point guard. These attributes allow him to create and score the ball at an elite level. He is an average to good shooter.

Demetrius Jackson is the continuation of a trend of Mike Brey landing big time recruits. In the 2012 class, Mike Brey landed Zach Auguste and Cameron Biedscheld, both highly heralded. In the 2013 class, Demetrius Jackson and V.J. Beachem are the prized recruits. Will landing these recruits lead to Notre Dame taking the next step in the NCAA Tournament?
