Sebastian Larue is yet another USC recruit who is looking around. On January 25th of 2013, he will be looking around Notre Dame’s campus.
Larue is ranked as the 218th best recruit in the nation by Rivals.com. He is the 27th best Wide Receiver in the 2013 class and a 4-star recruit. Larue checks in at 5’10” 175 lbs. He would definitely be a slot receiver for the Fighting Irish.
It is unclear where Larue fits into Notre Dame’s recruiting plans. Currently, Notre Dame has four Wide Receivers committed in the 2013 class: William Fuller, Torii Hunter Jr., James Onwualu and Corey Robinson. Fuller and Onwualu are probably slot receivers.
Why would Notre Dame be pursuing another slot receiver? The Fighting Irish could believe that one of the four players could play another position or that they truly need another receiver. Notre Dame currently has 7 receivers for next season on its roster. Luke Massa, who is probably unlikely to ever see the field as a Wide Receiver, is in this group. That would leave Notre Dame with 6 receivers for next year. Brian Kelly has said that he needs at least 7 receivers to run his Offense. Maybe this is the reason Notre Dame is pursuing as many receivers as they can get.
