Following the Under Armour All-American Game Skills Challenge, Tarean Folston committed to Notre Dame becoming the 22nd commitment in the 2013 class. Folston is a 4-star commitment from Cocoa, Florida. He is committed as a Running Back to the Fighting Irish but could play Slot Receiver or Cornerback. Folston is playing Cornerback at the Under Armour All-American Game. Despite not desiring to play the position in college, Folston has acquitted himself well early on.
Folston is consistently considered one of the Top 250 recruits in the nation. Rivals.com considers him to be the 183rd best recruit in the nation. Folson is ranked 79th by ESPN’s Scout, Inc. 247Sports has Folston as the 115th. Finally, he is ranked outside of Scout’s Top 300 players.
His two greatest strengths are his speed and quickness. After Folston gets the ball he is quick to the hole and is already running full speed by the time he gets through it. It has been reported that he runs between a 4.4-4.48 40 yard dash. His vision and cutting ability make him that next level back that Notre Dame will need in the next 2 years. -Nick Combs
The pick up of Folston gives Notre Dame one of the best Running Back hauls in the nation. They have an incredible one-two punch with Bryant and Folston. These two recruits can combine speed and power better than Riddick and Wood do currently. Both should push for playing time next year.
