Editor’s Note: These are the current Top 5 Targets for Notre Dame Recruiting in the opinion of Slap the Sign and its writers. The Top 5 Targets are determined on a basis of how well Notre Dame likes a certain recruit and how well they like Notre Dame. This list is updated weekly with the odds (Very likely, Likely, In Between, Unlikely and Very Unlikely) of whether or not the recruit will choose Notre Dame.

After a week of commitments during the All-American games, Notre Dame will attempt to regroup on the recruiting trail. There are several questions that remain for the Fighting Irish. Does Notre Dame have any space left? Is the return of Jamoris Slaughter for sure? Will Cierre Wood bolt for the NFL?

Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, Placer

Vanderdoes recently reopened his recruitment before the US Army All-American Bowl and will visit to Notre Dame in January. Vanderdoes will decide between USC, Notre Dame, UCLA, Washington and Alabama. Vanderdoes visited UCLA on November 24th. He also has a visit scheduled for USC on January 18th. Vanderdoes could eventually replace Louis Nix at Nose Guard but he could play anywhere along the line. USC is imploding right now. UCLA is on the rise. Notre Dame played for the National Title. If he has a great visit to South Bend, it could swing Vanderdoes in favor of the Irish.

Odds: Unlikely (Last Week: Unlikely)
