Editor’s Note: These are the current Top 5 Targets for Notre Dame Recruiting in the opinion of Slap the Sign and its writers. The Top 5 Targets are determined on a basis of how well Notre Dame likes a certain recruit and how well they like Notre Dame. This list is updated weekly with the odds (Very likely, Likely, In Between, Unlikely and Very Unlikely) of whether or not the recruit will choose Notre Dame.
As the 2013 class comes to an end, the 2014 class will quickly heat up. The Fighting Irish already have four commitments, Justin Brent, Greer Martini, Jay Hayes and Jimmy Byrne. The Irish will be more selective than they were in the 2013 class. The Irish should be able to land top talent at each position. But they should not get away from what got them here, recruiting wise. Here are the Top 5 Targets for 2014:
Mason Cole, Offensive Tackle, Florida
Notre Dame is the front runner for this 2014 Offensive Linemen. He is rated a 4-star recruit by Rivals.com. Cole is another Linemen with excellent size at 6’5” 275. If there is some question about the legitimacy of recruiting services, there should not be about his offer list. Cole has offers from Florida, Florida State, Michigan, USC and many others. With the large haul of Offensive Linemen in the 2013 class, Notre Dame will probably be selective with the 2014 class. Cole would meet that scrutiny.
