Auburn has been pursued Notre Dame commitment Tarean Folston relentlessly since he gave his commitment to the Fighting Irish on the 2nd of January. However, this evening, MaxPreps is reporting that Folson is solid to Notre Dame.

Despite this new tidbit of information, Signing Day will probably be tense for Irish fans. Signing Day defections go back far for Notre Dame. In 2007, Greg Little signed with North Carolina after holding a Notre Dame commitment for a long time. Last year, the Deontay Greenberry surprised everyone by signing with Houston after telling coaches the night before he would sign with the Fighting Irish.

Basically, there is always a chance that the 18 remaining recruits may flip to another school at the 11th hour. Some players are firmer than others. But, every year, this occurs and people are surprised. Many are appalled at the behavior of 18 year olds.

Tarean Folston is a tremendously athletic Running Back from Cocoa, Florida. He has a different skill set than that of Greg Bryant, a 5-star prospect also committed to Notre Dame. Folston would be a speed back. He could be utilized out of the backfield much like Theo Riddick. But, it might be even better because he possesses more speed than Folston.
