Notre Dame Offers OK Quarterback David Cornwell

Notre Dame has started the evaluation period off with a bang, offering another 2014 Quarterback. This time the offer is to Top Quarterback David Cornwell. Cornwell is considered to be one of the best Quarterbacks in the 2014 class. He is ranked as the 2nd best Quarterback by both 247Sports and Rivals. According to 247Sports, he is a 5-star recruit.

Cornwell currently has a leader of Alabama. The 247Sports’s Crystal Ball predicted on March 17th that the Cornwell would select the Crimson Tide. Since then he has taken two unofficial visits to Alabama, another to Auburn and a fourth to Oklahoma.

Cornwell checks in at 6’5″ 230lbs. He currently plays for Norman North in Norman, Oklahoma. In 2012, he passed for 2742 yards and rushed for another 755 yards. He accounted for 33 total touchdowns. Cornwell is in a line of several “Pro Style” Quarterbacks that Notre Dame has offered recently. This is a shift in philosophy for the Fighting Irish.

The Fighting Irish are getting in on Cornwell very late. He seems to already have an enriched leader that will be hard to unseat. But, Notre Dame is doing their due diligence because they realize that they will need to land a Quarterback in the 2014 class.
