Prospect Evaluation: Notre Dame Target Jacob Park

Notre Dame has demonstrated through this evaluation period that they are looking for a Quarterback in this year’s class. One of the Quarterbacks Notre Dame is pursuing is South Carolina Signal Caller Jacob Park. The Fighting Irish offered him on May 1st.

Park has prototypical NFL size at 6’3″ 202. He looks like he could fill out his body a little bit more. However, he will be ready to play his freshman year. Like any rising Senior, he obviously will grow a few inches. When he gets in the college weight room, he will add solid weight. By the time he gets to his Senior year, he could be a solid 6’4″ 225lbs.

Arm Strength

The South Carolina Signal Caller Jacob Park has above average arm strength. He throws the ball with ease. He can make almost every throw on the field. He does not have a Brett Favre or Jay Cutler type arm. However, Park will not be limited in whatever offense he plays in.

Park is an average Quarterback as far as accuracy. The ball is consistent completed to its intended target but his lack of footwork places the ball away from where the receiver is unable to catch and make runs after the catch.

Park would be a great “get” for the Fighting Irish but he seems destined to go to Virginia Tech. However, the Fighting Irish may be about to get into the mix with their May 1st offer.
