Jake Golic is Transferring to the University of Cincinnati

Today on Mike Golic’s radio show “The Best of Mike and Mike in the Morning” he reported that his son Jake Golic the 5th year senior will transfer to UC to play football in 2013. This comes at a bit of a surprise to me, just because of the rich Golic tradition at Notre Dame, but he has been buried on the depth chart since he has arrived on campus. There is just simply too much talent at the tight end position at Notre Dame. The name “Tight End U” is true year after year when they bring in 4-5 star caliber players and they continue to be drafted and successful in the NFL.

Jake will not be penalized for transferring, because he has already graduated from Notre Dame, but has eligibility left and he chose to use that at the University of Cincinnati. Gunner Kiel transferred to UC a little while back, but he won’t be able to suit up for the Bearcats this season. Let’s wish the best of luck to Jake Golic during his new journey as a part of the University of Cincinnati football team.
