Darius West is Safety from Lima Central Catholic in Lima, Ohio. His recruiting process just made a huge turn. Today, Notre Dame offered the 6′ 195lbs. Safety.

Prior to this offer, West was expected to select the Kentucky Wildcats according to the Crystal Ball on his 247Sports profile. However, today’s offer has turned his recruitment into a 50-50 proposition. Prior to today’s developments, each expert had selected Kentucky as his destination. However, every expert has selected Notre Dame since he has received this offer.

West has 26 offers including offers from Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Ole Miss and Penn State. According to 247Sports, West is ranked as a 4-star recruit. Rivals has him ranked as the 15th best Safety and the 185th best player overall. Scout has him ranked as the 18th best Safety in the country.

West plans on visiting the Fighting Irish soon. It is probable that he will make a commitment to Notre Dame at this time. He would be a solid pick up for the Irish at Defensive Back.
