Justin Brent Receives Opening Invite

Justin Brent had flown under the radar nationally until this weekend when he received an invitation to compete at “The Opening”, an annual event at the headquarters of Nike. Brent will now get to get show the entire country that he top player and not just one of Indiana’s best.

Brent competed this weekend at a regional event in Columbus where he stood out along with Da’Shawn Hand and Buckeyes Commitment Damon Webb.

What Brent has really showed so far is his physical ability. He is able to beat press coverage and catch the ball in traffic well. Brent may be the closest thing that the Irish will have to a “Michael Floyd” type in 2014.

Brent currently stands as the 26th, 48th, 39th and 38th best Wide Receiver by various recruiting services. With a solid showing at “The Opening”, Brent should be able to improve on these rankings.

The 6’2″ 195lbs Wide Receiver from Speedway, Indiana committed to Notre Dame on July 9th, 2012. He only has two offers, Notre Dame and Louisville, but was receiving major interest from Ohio State when he committed to Notre Dame.
