2014 Iowa WR Lazard Visits Notre Dame

Iowa State Commitment Allen Lazard unofficially visited Notre Dame on June 10th. Lazard received an offer from the Fighting Irish on May 17th despite committing to Iowa State on December 3rd. According to reports, Lazard was “blown away” by his visit on Monday.

Lazard possesses excellent size for Wide Receiver. He stands at 6’5″ and weighs in at 202lbs. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. Lazard is ranked as a 4-star recruit nationally. Rivals has Lazard ranked as the best Wide Receiver in the country. If he were to join the Fighting Irish, he would represent a player that the Irish do not have on their roster currently based on his size and skills.

Despite his commitment, Lazard is still looking at a few different schools. These schools include California, Notre Dame, Oregon and Stanford. Lazard told a local Iowa TV station that he is committed to Iowa State despite other offers and visits.

These comments are always difficult to judge. They usually do not mean anything. If someone is looking, they are not committed to anybody. Does Notre Dame have a chance to land Lazard? Of course.
