When Tarean Folston stepped onto Notre Dame’s campus recently, he may have easily become the most athletic player on the team. Folston will first get a look at Running Back where he could make an instant impact. He is not a physically ready as his Freshman counterpart Greg Bryant but he has the explosiveness to make big plays. It is this explosiveness that may help him find his way onto the field early at the Running Back position as a Starter or a Back-up with significant carries.
However, if Folston does not grab his share of Notre Dame’s carries, it is not the only possibility of him finding his way onto the field this season. In the Under Armour All-American Game, Folston played Cornerback. Although he had never played the position, he ended up demonstrating that he could play the spot well. If Folston does not demonstrate that he is ready to play Running Back or the position is filled, look for Folston to possibly move to Defense temporarily. Finally, based on his athleticism, he is almost a lock for Special Teams. Whether it is as a returner or as a simple contributor, Folston will find his way onto the Irish Special Teams.
