Notre Dame will need impact performances from several Freshman this year to have a successful season this year. Last year, KeiVarae Russell and Sheldon Day made huge contributions for the Fighting Irish.
Who has the best opportunity to make that type of impact this year? Slap the Sign will countdown 10 of these players.
Mission Viejo, California
Max Redfield will participate in the first play when Notre Dame and Temple kickoff on August 31st at 3:30 p.m. His athleticism and talent dictates that he will at least be participating on Special Teams this season. But, he is also probably planning on some more too.
Redfield will attempt to break into the rotation at Safety. If he can do this, he will upgrade the athleticism at the position enormously. If Redfield and Shumate were on the field at the same, Notre Dame would have one of the most athletic backends of their defense.
Safety may not be the only position that Redfield sees on the field. He may also play as a Wide Receiver. Redfield, as stated, brings tremendous athleticism. Coaches may decided that he needs to bring it on the Offensive side of the ball for his Freshman season.
