Texas, Miami Favored Over Notre Dame To Win Title

Rodney Dangerfield gets no respect. Notre Dame gets no respect either.

In 2012, Texas finished 9-4 while Miami finished 7-5. But, as of August 14th, Bovada had Texas and Miami favored higher than Notre Dame to win the 2014 National Title Game.

The odds of Texas winning the title are 20 to 1. The Longhorns are the 12th most likely to hoist the crystal ball. However, Mack Brown and his staff has recruited well. Therefore, it is possible that the Longhorns have enough talent to win the talent.

The Hurricanes have been banned from bowl games for multiple years. They also have been beaten by the Fighting Irish twice since 2010. However, they are 33 to 1 to win the title. This is the 14th highest odds.

Notre Dame checks in at 20th most likely to win. The odds are  50 to 1. USC, a team without a Quarterback, has better odds than Notre Dame. The Oklahoma Sooners are 40 to 1. The Wolverines are 33 to 1.

Vegas typically knows what they are talking about when it comes to making fairly accurate odds. They have lots of money at stake. But, Notre Dame deserves more respect than they are getting. A 42-14 pounding from Alabama got Notre Dame in this spot.
