Following Notre Dame’s 28-6 victory over Temple, Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick announced that Brian Kelly and Notre Dame had agreed to a new contract. Brian Kelly stated at the beginning of the fall that he and Notre Dame had reached a contract in principal that an announcement was imminent. During the postgame show on NBCSports Network, Swarbrick announced the new contract. Swarbrick said, “We entered into a new contract with Brian Kelly. We could not be more pleased.”

Kelly said that he was never worried about the contract. “Money is not going to build a program,” Brian Kelly said. Kelly was concerned about whether or not  the University was committed to growing the program. Clearly, the Irish fulfilled his concerns.

Brian Kelly won his 200th game of his career. He was the second faster player to reach the milestone. The first player was Pop Warner.

Kelly has won as many game as anyone in the first three years of his Notre Dame career.
