The Fighting Irish began the 2013 season with a 28-6 victory over the Temple Owls. Notre Dame answered some of the questions marks going into the matchup against Michigan. They can build on these performances for the rest of the season.
Tommy Rees, 16-23 346 yards 3 TDs: Tommy Rees began his 2013 campaign with an excellent performance versus the Temple Owls. Rees did not show everything that the coaches had begin talking about. However, he proved that he can be efficient. He demonstrated that he may be able to stretch the field vertically more than he has in the past.
T.J. Jones-Leaner, Faster, Stronger: Jones jumped off the screen immediately as looking lighter than he was last year. This leaner build translated in quickness and speed. He should be able to be a dynamic player this season.
Punt Returns?: They could have been better. However, 7.7 yards per return was a vast improvement over last year. Jones looked like he had the ability to take the ball to the house. On one play, he made the first defender miss and then tripped as he went down. If he had not stumbled, he could have gone the distance.
