2014 Notre Dame Football Recruiting

Andrew Williams seemed like a lock for the Fighting Irish as this recruiting cycle began. Williams attends the same high school as current Notre Dame Freshmen Defensive Linemen Issac Rochell. The two are also good friends. Lately, a southern team has seemed more likely to land the Outside Linebacker/Defensive End prospect.

Today, Williams named a Top 6. In no particular order, Williams has Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina and Tennessee. The favorites of these 6 would have to be Notre Dame, Clemson and Auburn. Currently, 247Sports has Auburn as 71%. Notre Dame and Clemson are both 14%. He has unofficially visited Georgia and Tennessee this season.

Williams is ranked as 4-star recruit and the 15th best Weakside Defensive End by 247Sports. He has 41 scholarship offers from FBS programs.

Andrew Williams would likely play the CAT Linebacker position at Notre Dame. His 6’4″ 247 lbs frame makes him ideal for the spot. Notre Dame currently has Senior Prince Shembo, Junior Ishaq Williams and Sophomore Romeo Okwara.
