Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Irish Land 2015 QB

2015 Notre Dame Football Recruiting

Notre Dame landed its second commitment in the 2015 class in California Quarterback Blake Barnett. Barnett hails from Corona, California. He checks in at 6’4″ 195.

Barnett has offers from Ole Miss, West Virginia, Cal, Duke, Colorado, Northwestern and Arizona. He is consistently ranked as a 4-star recruit (Scout & 247). He is currently unranked by Rivals and ESPN.

The Irish are completely stocked at the Quarterback position with 4-star recruits for the future. In 2015, Notre Dame will theoretically have Everett Golson (baring readmission), Malik Zaire, DeShone Kizer and Blake Barnett. Of course this talent, minus Golson, is unproven. However, the Irish have put themselves in excellent position. Considering Head Coach Brian Kelly was known as somewhat of a Quarterback guru, fans can finally hope that stability will be brought to the position.

With a Quarterback each year, it will be interesting to see who eventually plays in South Bend. The odds say that Golson and one of the three will play in their careers. The other two are likely to transfer. But, these things are impossible to predict.

The Fighting Irish have an excellent start to the 2015 class with Offensive Linemen Jerry Tillery and Quarterback Blake Barnett. Recruiting has moved quicker and quicker in recent years. The Irish are doing their best to keep with the pace.
