Notre Dame Football Recruiting

November 25, 2013

Notre Dame football recruiting has heated up recently. A Notre Dame commitment visited another school. A big prospect was in town for Senior Day. Notre Dame landed a big time commitment. Here are the updates:

Richard Yeargin III Visits Clemson

Yeargin III committed to Notre Dame on August 2, 2013. Over the weekend, he visited Clemson. Yeargin told the Miami Herald:

“Clemson weighs a lot on me because of the ties I have in South Carolina, but I’m comfortable with where I’m at. I feel [South Bend] a place I can fit in and it’s a place I can do exceptional things, and become someone who is the face of the Notre Dame program. My value with them is at the utmost high. That’s why there is a National Signing Day, and right now, I’m committed to Notre Dame.”

He says the right things. However, recruiting followers know how this can go.

Nyles Morgan In Town For Senior Day

One of Notre Dame’s most important recruits is Crete-Monee Linebacker Nyles Morgan. One of Notre Dame’s weakest positions is Inside Linebacker. Morgan is rated as the 4th rated Linebacker and 85th prospect in the nation. Notre Dame is gaining ground with him. They are probably third behind Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. But, his recruitment may trend more local as National Signing Day approaches.

Irish Land Blake Barnett

Notre Dame landed Blake Barnett, a top 2015 Quarterback recruit. Quarterback Guru Dennis Gile said:

“I’m saying right now, he’s the best quarterback in the country. I’m not going to say any names, but I just think he’s the best quarterback in the country right now as far as being able to do everything. There’s nothing he can’t do.”

Gile knows what he is talking about. He has trained Tim Tebow, Ryan Mallet, Sean Renfree, Brett Hundey and top 2014 Quarterback prospect Kyle Allen.
