Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Nyles Morgan Sets Announcement Date

2014 Notre Dame Football Recruiting

One of the most important recruits in the 2014 class is Crete-Monee Linebacker Nyles Morgan. Notre Dame’s situation at Linebacker makes 85th best player in country, according to 247Sports, 1st on their board. Morgan will make his college decision known on January 4th during the U.S. Army All-American Game.

Currently, Morgan will likely choose between Notre Dame, Florida, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss. He has already officially visited Notre Dame (October 19), Florida (November 29) and Ole Miss (October 11).

Morgan checks in at 6’2.5″ and 230 lbs. He runs a 4.79 40-yard dash. According to 247Sports, Morgan ranks as the 85th best player overall and the 4th best Inside Linebacker.

Landing Morgan would be a huge coup for the Fighting Irish. It is possible that Nyles Morgan could start at Inside Linebacker next to Jarrett Grace against Rice. Even if he did not start from Day One, he would likely play a lot. Morgan would be the best Inside Linebacker commitment since current San Diego Charger and Heisman Trophy Runner-Up Manti Te’o.
