2014 Notre Dame Recruiting

This week has been undoubtedly difficult for 4-star Iowa State Wide Receiver commitment Allen Lazard. Early last week, his brother Iowa State Linebacker Anthony Lazard was arrested for OWI. On Sunday, Iowa State Offensive Coordinator Courtney Messingham was fired. Will these things add up to Lazard flipping to Notre Dame before National Signing Day?

Lazard officially visited Notre Dame on October 18th for the USC game. He has said in the past that he would only make a switch if there were coaches changes at ISU. This is probably referencing a change in the Head Coach. Additionally, Lazard is being recruited by Shane Burnham and Todd Sturdy. Both of these coaches are still with the Cyclones. Finally, the Lazard’s brother and father both have attended or are attending Iowa State.

However, the Cyclones went 3-9 this season. Lazard may want to play big time football. Head Coach Paul Rhoads is currently 27-36 in 5 years at Iowa State. An 11th hour switch may be likely to occur here.

Very doubtful. He has already confirmed his commitment numerous times. The only reason its a story is because he’s committed to a non power house program. He’s going to Iowa State and Notre Dame needs to get over it. And keep in mind this is coming from a very adamant Hawkeye fan and not a Cyclone fan.
