2014 Notre Dame Football Recruiting

Notre Dame has already landed one commitment out of Bishop Dunne Catholic in Cornerback Nick Watkins. Now they are attempting to land another in Safety prospect Payton Hendrix.

Hendrix visited Notre Dame on October 18th for the USC game. He will visit Arkansas on December 13th. Prior to the Notre Dame offer, the Razorbacks were considered the favorite. It is reasonable to believable that Hendrix’s recruitment may be trending back towards Head Coach Bret Bielema and the Arkansas Razorbacks. However, Notre Dame will still have an in-home visit to persuade Hendrix to join “The Golden Army”. According to the NCAA website, coaches may begin off-season contact following the last Saturday in November.

Hendrix is considered a 4-star recruit by Scout.com. All other recruiting services have him ranked as 3-star recruit.

There is no timetable for a decision but it appears that the decision will come down to Arkansas and Notre Dame. Having a commitment from teammate Nick Watkins can only help the Irish. However, it seems like Hendrix would have pulled the trigger already if he was truly comfortable. He may be visiting Arkansas to determine whether South Bend is his final destination.
