Notre Dame Football: Stephon Tuitt and His Second Round Grade

Notre Dame Football

Earlier this week, Tuitt received his NFL evaluation from the draft board. A second round grade was probably not what he was looking for. However, it may have been exactly what Irish fans were looking for.

Several mock drafts have Tuitt being selected early in the second round. Before the season began, he was anywhere in the Top 15.

Although Tuitt remains undecided, this grade probably gives him the deciding factor. Tuitt and his mother want him to get his degree from Notre Dame. Earlier this season, he told the Observer, Notre Dame’s student newspaper, that he would indeed return for his Senior year. However, his Mother quickly denied the story and stated that they were doing their due diligence in researching agents.

Tuitt’s  conditioning was affected by off-season sports hernia surgery. Returning for another year and being a move productive player will only improve his draft stock. Additionally, if he graduates from Notre Dame, he will have fulfilled two goals in one year. However, sometimes the pull of the NFL can be too strong to resist.
