Notre Dame Football
With Notre Dame’s victory in the Pinstripe Bowl over Rutgers and Michigan’s loss to Kansas State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, the Irish regained the top slot as the winningest team in the college football.
Taylor Lewan commented on the winning percentage following this year’s Ohio State game:
“Because we’re Michigan. It doesn’t matter what our record is, it doesn’t matter what happened the past few years. All that matters is we’re the winningest program in college football. That’s how it is and as long as coach Hoke’s around, that’s how it’s going to be.”
Unfortunately for Lewan, at the end of the day, it does matter what your record is. Michigan’s 7-6 record lost them their designation as the all-time winningest program. Additionally, Hoke is likely on the hot seat after going 8-5 and 7-6 in the past two seasons.
Notre Dame and Michigan meet for the final time (for some time) on September 6th @ 7:30 p.m. in Notre Dame Stadium.
