Notre Dame Football Recruiting
Notre Dame has already put together a solid Offensive Line in this recruiting class with commitments from Bars, Byrne, Mustipher and Nelson. However, the Irish might be looking to add one more in 4-star Offensive Guard Braden Smith from Olathe, Kansas.
Smith is slated to visit Notre Dame on January 17th. In the next two weeks, he will visit Texas A&M and TCU respectively.
TCU is considered the favorite for the 6-6 290 lbs Guard from Olathe South High School. But, Texas A&M has a legitimate shot at landing Smith with a good visit.
What is really unknown is what is the mutual interest between Notre Dame and Smith. As previously stated, Notre Dame already has an excellent Offensive Line class in 2014. If Notre Dame lands a commitment from Nyles Morgan on January 4th, then will Notre Dame tell Smith that they are filled up.
The visit suggests that both sides are interested in attempting to find common ground. Landing players in the front of each side of the ball will help Notre Dame win in the future. Smith would be icing on the cake.
Smith will play in the Under Armour All-America Game on January 2nd at 4 p.m.
