Notre Dame Football Recruiting
Every year under the Brian Kelly regime the Irish land a recruit that held little interest in signing with Notre Dame. In 2010, Aaron Lynch signed with the Irish after coming close to enrolling early at Florida State. In 2011, the Irish landed Davonte Neal and Gunner Kiel at the 11th hour. In 2012, Brian Kelly used the momentum to land several recruits including Greg Bryant, Max Redfield, Tarean Folston and Eddie Vanderdoes. This year, it was Nyles Morgan.
Morgan selected the Irish today over Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Florida at the US Army All-American Bowl.
Nyles Morgan hails from Crete, Illinois. He checks in at 6-1 225 lbs and runs a 4.79 40-yard dash. According to 247Sports, he is the 3rd best Inside Linebacker in the nation. Overall, Morgan is the 86th player overall.
Morgan represents the most important player in the 2014 class for Notre Dame. He will likely play his Freshman year due to the lack of depth that the Irish have at Inside Linebacker. Notre Dame currently have Jarrett Grace (coming off injury), Kendall Moore, Michael Deeb and Joe Schmidt at Inside Linebacker.
