Notre Dame Football

Troy Niklas surprised fans, coaches and likely his family when he opted for the NFL instead of returning to the University of Notre Dame for his Senior season. Niklas received a 3rd or 4th round projection by the NFL Draft Advisory Board.

Niklas will likely test well. He has great size at 6’7″ 270 lbs.

The Junior Tight End collected 498 yards on 32 receptions with 5 touchdowns.

Notre Dame is left with Ben Koyack as the lone Irish player with experience. The Irish will need Durham Smythe, Mike Heuerman or one of the freshman to step up. They can also use 3-wide receiver and 4-wide receiver sets to substitute their depth.
