One of the top remaining 2014 targets for Notre Dame is John “JuJu” Smith. Today, he announced that six schools remain in running for his signature on February 5th, 2014. Notre Dame is included in the list of six schools. Others include Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA and USC. Smith will have visited all schools officially, except UCLA, before making his decision.

Smith is consider a 5-star prospect by Rivals and Scout. He checks in at 6’1″ 200 lbs and runs a 4.6 40-yard dash. Smith has 21 FBS offers.

Smith could play Wide Receiver and Safety at the next level.

USC is considered the favorite for Smith.  He is officially visiting USC this weekend. Many experts have predicted that USC will be Smith’s final destination.

But, the Irish have a solid shot at landing Smith on National Signing Day. Smith visited Notre Dame on October 18th. He would be a great addition to the class of 2014. The Press-Telegram wrote:

Smith said he and his parents are weighing the best academic opportunity, even if that’s a choice that would take him further away from his tight-knit family.
