Notre Dame Football: LaFleur to Serve As QB Coach

Notre Dame Football

The coaching staff for the 2014 season is now complete. Today, the University of Notre Dame announced that former Redskins Quarterback Coach Matt LaFleur would serve the same position at Notre Dame.

In typical Brian Kelly coaching staff decision fashion, LaFleur and Kelly have worked together in the past. In 2004 and 2005, LaFleur served as an offensive assistant when Brian Kelly was head coach at Central Michigan.

Since his time at Central Michigan, LaFleur has served in several different coaching positions. In 2007, he served as the Offensive Coordinator for Division II Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. In 2008, LaFleur made the jump to the NFL as the Offensive Quality Control Coach for the Houston Texans. In 2010, he was named the Quarterbacks coach for the Washington Redskins where he most notably coached Robert Griffin III.

LaFleur hails from Mount Pleasant, Michigan and played his college football at Saginaw Valley State.

Although LaFleur is the Quarterbacks Coach, Brian Kelly is undoubtedly the de-facto Quarterbacks coach. But, his young energy will help the Irish on the recruiting trail.
